Now run from the rain.
From a life that has spawned, then spurned you both
And swear, that if the hellish thorns
That have constructed black walls in your wakes
Should take a grip
It will have meaning no longer
Run, palms clasped together and fingers singing
With prints identical in every way
Minds, so in tune that they spell out letters,
Alternately
Of eternal truths
Run from the dogmatists and the stone fire places-
Merciless keepers of wild beauty,
From the superfluous chapels built for the simplest of gods
And the crystals that break faces into a hundred pieces
Diffract and claim dynasty
Escape the cold passage ways and the
Breaking sun found mummified in unlined sheets
Run,
As storms gather and threaten your oaths born
Beneath ancients oak trees
Where the brook bore witness to the love of
Two miscellaneous parts
Now
As united, inseparable, abstract as
Two sides of one beating heart,
Run from the rain
